Neil J. Farber

Neil J. Farber, M.D. is Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He is a general internist, involved in primary care practice, teaching of medical students and residents, and research. Dr. Farber graduated Cum Laude from Franklin and Marshall College in 1972, received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical school honor society, in 1975.

Dr. Farber’s research interests focus on various types of assessments, including survey methodology to explore communication between the physician and the patient, and in various aspects of medical ethics. He is particularly interested in physicians’ and patients’ attitudes and values, including aspects of conflicts that arise out of the patient-physician interaction.

Dr. Farber brings to light a unique appreciation and expertise of the interaction between patients and physicians.
